JIRA is a tool developed by Australian Company Atlassian. It is used for bug tracking,
issue tracking, and project management. The name “JIRA” is actually inherited from the
Japanese word “Gojira” which means “Godzilla”.
The basic use of this tool is to track issue and bugs related to your software and Mobile apps. It is
also used for project management. The JIRA dashboard consists of many useful functions and

Project Scheduling
The project schedule is the tool that communicates what work needs to be performed, which
resources of the organization will perform the work and the timeframes in which that work needs to
be performed. The project schedule should reflect all of the work associated with delivering the
project on time. Without a full and complete schedule, the project manager will be unable to
communicate the complete effort, in terms of cost and resources, necessary to deliver the project.
What is a Gantt chart?
A Gantt chart, commonly used in project management, is one of the most popular and useful ways of
showing activities (tasks or events) displayed against time. On the left of the chart is a list of the
activities and along the top is a suitable time scale. Each activity is represented by a bar; the position
and length of the bar reflects the start date, duration and end date of the activity. This allows you to
see at a glance:
1 What the various activities are
2 When each activity begins and ends
3 How long each activity is scheduled to last
4 Where activities overlap with other activities, and by how much
5 The start and end date of the whole project
To summarize, a Gantt chart shows you what has to be done (the activities) and when (the
schedule).
